Future Forests - Mail Order/Courier Service

Future Forests has been supplying plants by mail order for over 20 years, so you can be sure your order will arrive safely and in good condition. The plants are carefully packed in special thermal bags, each parcel has a tracking number and, within Ireland, should reach you 48 hours or less after leaving the nursery. We dispatch at the start of each week to avoid parcels being delayed over the weekend.

Where can we send to ? All over Ireland and the UK by post or courier.

How can I order ?   We don't have a shopping trolley (or a wheelbarrow) on this site......yet !
Orders can be given by letter, phone (027) 66176 or email futureforests@eircom.net.
Email is especially suitable: we can confirm your order quickly, answer any queries, advise if a plant is sold out and recommend alternatives.
We then email you when your plants have been dispatched.

What can we send ? Any plant up to  5ft or 1.5 meter in height ~ Look at the size of some of those parcels above !
Bare root plants are available from November to March.  Container grown plants and young plants in liners can be sent at any time of year.

How do we dispatch ? We use both An Post and Fastway Couriers
An Post provides an excellent service but Courier can be considerably cheaper for heavier orders (see table below). However a signature is required for courier delivery and a contact phone number.

What does it cost ? Delivery by Fastway Couriers is at a flat rate of 15 euro per parcel. We can get a lot of plants into one parcel, the one Cara is packing above contains over 100 young trees and hedging plants !

Is there an Order Form ? Most people just email a list of the plants they want.
You can also copy and paste into an email from the website or from a copy of the list in MS Excel (see above).
We include an order form with our paper list and you can request a version in MS Excel by email that you can complete and email back to us. We hope to have this online shortly.
As there is such a huge range of plants in different sizes, bare root and potted, it's a challenge to devise one order form that encompasses everything ! .....however, we are working on it.

How do I pay ? We accept Visa, Mastercard or Laser. If you prefer to pay by cheque,  please send a "limit cheque" crossed & payable to Future Forests Ltd. Leave the amount blank but write across the top  "not to exceed  X €uro" (the amount you wish to spend)  We bill your card or fill in the details on your cheque when we send your order. A receipt will be attached to the parcel showing the exact amount charged.
Sterling cheques are no problem. We convert at rate of exchange when your order is dispatched and note the sterling amount alongside the euro total. If you don't have a card or bank account, we can give you a quote and you can send us a postal order or bank draft.
We are happy to supply regular customers with a good credit history on an invoice basis.

What do I do when my plants arrive ? Although the plants are packed in special bags to keep temperatures even and ensure the roots don't dry out, you should open the parcel as soon as it arrives. Check the contents, there will be a label on each plant or bundle of plants. If there is anything you are not happy with, let us know as soon as possible.
As long as the roots are damp, the plants will hold fine in the bags for a few days, stored upright in a shed or cool place.  Tie the bag to ensure wind does not get to the roots. If you can't plant right away, you should trench bare root plants in any spare piece of ground till you can move them to their permanent site. There will be a leaflet describing this in more detail along with advice on planting and aftercare in the 'Documents Enclosed' envelope on the side of your parcel.
